In a message sent to me wearing the network administrator hat from our network consultant:

If you want to grow, the status quo is not going to cut it. You need a PLAN and rock the damn boat a little to make one. Infrastructure, work methodologies, whatever it's all the same. I'm proposing as a one-time event to start fresh, leave behind the stuff that doesn't work and bring forward the stuff that works (on new or re-purposed servers) while splitting services and such in ways that make business sense.

When [your boss] asks me: Is this a good deal (he sees on eBay), first question in my mind is: What do we use this for? I still do not know how a shop can operate without even a network diagram. Let's make one and run with it!
