In the beginnings of Instagram, they only focus on one thing: their iPhone app. They had no Web site for users and no clients for any other platform.
Then, slowly, they let you log on instagram.com to edit your profile and connect your account with other apps.
Little by little, they added a few more features. Photos became viewable via the site, then people could explore those pictures via search or links to hashtags.
But there’s one addition that was quietly tucked in the recent changes to their site: you can now change your profile picture. When viewing your profile on instagram.com, you can click on your own profile photo, and a menu will pop up to either get rid of it or upload a new one from a file sitting on your computer.
Since you still have to use their mobile app to upload photos, this feature may seem useless. Then again, it’s still useful to know.
